Jonathan about . . .
 |
getting started: "I thought it
looked cool so I decided to give it a try." |
 |
his half-brother:
"He went to
JOs and jumped with Tim Tetrault and those guys." |
 |
Alexy Sotskov: "He taught me how
to jump and he really understands my style of jumping. I've always done pretty
well with him." |
 |
Larry Stone: "I've been so young,
away from my parents and it was good to have someone like Larry around,
because he was kind of your friend. He was a pretty cool guy." |
 |
his summer in Park City in 2002:
"This summer is my first experience like living more than 2 or 3 weeks away
from home. So far it's been pretty good. I'm staying with a really nice family,
we have a lot of fun. I had a lot of pressure on me and going to school and
trying to jump at the same time is really hard. But now training is so much
better. We have an awesome weight room and perfect jumps. It's not quite as
hard as like you're at home and, you know, you have to go all the way to the
schools to do weights or go out and run by yourself." |
 |
the Junior Olympics 2002:
"I
went to the JOs expecting to maybe get a top5 finish in the J1 nordic combined
and maybe a top10 in the J1 special jumping competition. The first few days of
training went really well and I was jumping great. Competition time came and I
did even better." |
 |
his first trip to Europe:
"The
trip was awesome. My first European experience couldn't have been better. We
stayed in Drammen, Norway, which was a nice town with good food and good
people." |
 |
summer jumping: "It's more
laid-back and it's cool that it's so hot outside. You can go chill with your
friends afterwards and stuff." |
 |
Kari Yliantila (in '02):
"Kari's
really strict. He used to be very scary, like I wouldn't even want to talk to
him and I hadn't seen him smile up until this year, but he seems like he's
pretty cool now." |
 |
dedication: "Just always
remember no matter who you are and how good you are, there's always somebody
who looks up to you." |
